There is is nothing wrong with your mental game. Your head is fine and there is no need to go to a trading psychologist.
You have got it all wrong.
It’s not that you don’t know how to control your emotions, it’s just that you don’t know how to – how should I put this – you do not know how to trade.
I know, the truth hurts.
It’s a lot easier to blame your head because that does not invalidate your trading ability. So you become a self help junkie, wasting valuable time “working on yourself” when you should be working on your trading.
That is not to say that there is no value in working on you mental trading game. It’s just that before you do, make sure it’s not the fundamentals of your trading that need fixing.
I agree! That whole “trading psychology narrative” is bullshit. I rant about this every few months it seems. Huge distraction for us. And frustrating to see the Twitterverse rehashing those tired cliches — most of which are not true, and propagated by people who don't really trade for a living.
Keep the fires burning Paul. Glad a buddy of mine pointed me in your direction.
You made some good quality points there. I did a search on the topic and found many people will agree with your blog.
