There’s an interesting new blog aggregator called Newsflashr.com, from the founder of InstantBull.com. Here’s a Boston Globe article about the site.
It uses Alexa rankings to sort out sites. I am ranked 43. I have never paid attention to Alexa rankings. Probably to my detriment, I’ve never done any of the things I am “supposed to do” in order to increase blog traffic and search engine rankings.
Anybody have any tips?
Take a look at the blogs above you. Some are <>huge<> and without many serious changes and making your blog a much bigger part of your life, you aren’t going to be able to compete. For instance, ask yourself what you think it would take to compete with TraderFeed. Charles Kirk doesn’t have a psychologist degree and blog is #5, but he says he spends over 50 hours/week on his blog. Is that what you want?>>On the other hand, Afraid to Trade (19) and Trader’s Narrative (17) are superficially similar to yours. They both make a dedicated effort to add one or two dense articles per week, discussing trading setups or other issues.>>On the plus side, “Option Addict”, “Move the Markets”, and “Ugly Chart” aren’t on this list so you can feel good about beating those losers 🙂>>>If you’re really interested in improving your site, google “SEO Optimization” and http://www.problogger.net/ which will have some good, general tips.>>Good luck!
Tyro,>IMO, only two of the sites you mention are better sites for *traders*. Ironically, optionaddict is one of them. He’s built up a great site and builds fantastic watchlists.>>My question is not one of content, but the other stuff people do to get ranked higher on these types of lists.>>Thanks for the feedback and the problogger link!
